Llamas were bred for thousands of years in South America to be fiber-producing pack animals before being used for recreational purposes. They are sure-footed creatures that are well adapted to high altitudes and mountainous terrain, leaving almost no impact on Yellowstone’s fragile trails. Our llamas will carry tents, sleeping bags, food, clothing and other equipment. Best of all: anyone, including children, can lead a llama after a few minutes of basic instruction. And no – our llamas do NOT spit at people.
